Sometimes it takes a province

It was exciting to watch the Shepard Energy Centre go from a spark of an idea eight years ago to producing 800 megawatts of electricity this week.

To be sure, all the talk of turbines, generators, and the grid was warranted, but there was one important aspect of Shepard – jointly owned by us and Capital Power – that maybe didn’t get talked about enough.

More than 2,300 people, from the engineers to the welders who worked on the Shepard project and brought Alberta’s newest plant to life were from right here – good ol’ Alberta.

The Alberta Advantage = Albertans

And while we are on the subject, there’s another group of Albertans that we’re proud of – our customer care team.

Being Alberta-based not only means that they’re experiencing the latest heat wave or cold snap you’re living through, but also that the people they listen to and help every day are their neighbours and fellow Albertans.

It’s nice to know that when you’ve got a concern or a question, that your ENMAX team is right here in Alberta ready to get you the answers you need.
