On July 1, 2014 Canada’s anti-spam legislation goes into effect, and over the next few days your inbox may be filled with emails.
At some point we’ve all entered our email on a website when ordering something, joining something, or just looking for customer service. And, you’ve probably been amazed at how many of those long lost, and current, contacts have popped up in your email inbox asking for your consent to continue sending messages to you.
This is because Canada’s new anti-spam legislation (CASL) goes into effect on July 1, 2014. So while you’re celebrating other things that make Canada great, be sure to raise a glass or wave your flag to this move that’s aimed at making how we communicate that much better.
We’ve received more than a few CASL related emails, and because of the business we’re in, we’ve also been sending emails to our customers, vendors and contacts to confirm that they want to continue receiving emails from us. (more…)
